The Hoofjack™

Applications for use

Hoofjack™ is designed to support the horse's foot through all phases of shoeing, trimming, treatment and daily care.

Hoofjack™ provides a stable support for the horse to rest its foot on, allowing the horse to feel comfortable, secure, and relaxed, while reducing strain to the horse handler's back and knees.

Hoofjack™ will aid the horse owner, farrier and veterinary surgeon in performing hoof procedures that would normally require support of the hoof by the handler.

Benefits for the farrier

  • Allows you to change shoeing posture without having to drop the hoof.

  • Take your mind off your back and knees and put it back into your work.

  • Pull shoe, trim, rasp, and nail on a new shoe.
  • Dramatically reduces the risk of getting injured by a nail.
  • The solution for the leaning horse.
  • Accommodates older horses with limited range of motion.
  • Two 90 pound pull magnets - for hoof pick, studs, wrenches, farrier tools, etc....
  • Conforms to each individual hoof shape.

Benefits for the horse owner:

  • Reduce strain to back and knees while picking out hooves.

Hoof picking is child's play.      Studs are easy!             Hoof dressing.

  • Hoof support system that adjusts in height.
  • Conforms to each individual hoof shape.
  • Horse feels more relaxed on the Hoofjack™, rather than having the hoof held up manually.
  • Avoid stains on clothing from thrush medications.
  • Apply polish standing up and dirt-free using the straight post.
  • Two 90 pound pull magnets for hoof pick, bandage scissors, studs, stud spanners, etc

Safety considerations

For safety and stability, one or both feet of the user should always be on the base of the stand when a horse's foot is in the cradle. Do not leave a horse with its foot in the cradle unattended!

Hoofjack™ is only for use on horses that have been trained to submit their hoof to the handler.

Working with and around horses may be hazardous. Equine Innovations, Inc. is not responsible for damages that may occur due to improper use of this product.

How to use Hoofjack™

Cradle height adjustment
With Hoofjack™ on level ground, stand on base of Hoofjack™.

With tension knob loose, rotate cradle head in a corkscrew fashion while pulling up or down.

Ideally, it is recommended that the cradle height be at the same height as the user's knee. This will allow the user to place their knee against the fetlock, stabilizing the horse's foot in the cradle. Slight pressure may need to be applied against the fetlock to prevent the horse from removing its foot from the cradle.

Consideration must also be given to the comfort of the horse. For optimal comfort when working with a front foot, the horse's cannon bone should be parallel to the ground when its foot is in the cradle. It may be necessary to raise the height of the cradle when working with a hind leg.
