Report International Farriery Symposium Saturday 6th through to Saturday 13th May 2000 Saturday 6th May was lecture day. TFP provided an exciting programme featuring new and previously unpublished work including;
Guest Speakers were Dr Barbara Page DVM Gene Ovnicek RFJ Charlotte Baldwyn Grad. Dip.Phys MCSP.SRP Stephen Bradford B.A.pp.Sc Tim Phillips B Vet Med. Cert EP DEST Dip ECVS MRCVS In total over 350 delegates including Vets and farriers from all over Europe attended an action packed week of presentations and workshops. Debate was lively. Food was excellent and sleep was minimal.
Natural Balance Workshop Sunday 7th May Next morning we re set the stage to concentrate on Natural
Balance Shoeing. To maximise viewing we digitally filmed the shoeing and projected the subject onto the big screen.
Gene Ovincek and Ed Bullock from USA. Horse Owner Evenings Tuesday 9th May at the Weald School Billingshurst Thursday 11th May at The Chequers Mead Center, East Grinstead. Dr Barbara Page and Gene were speakers at both evenings which were well attended, horse owners want the change!
The Equine Digit Support System Workshops Monday 8th & Saturday 13th May We hosted practical application workshops Including Lameness assessment and how to achieve maximum benefit from the EDSS. Mondays event was held for our European Guests who wished to return home. Four lame horses soon became sound horses.
The format for these EDSS workshops is now becoming polished. Firstly the four Cases are reviewed and lameness history told. Sites of hoof pain were recorded, we broke into smaller groups and worked as a team on each horse.

Results were reviewed and measurements taken for precise breakover positions.
