The Right Step

The Right Step® uses natural resins and plant extracts to preserve the correct moisture balance within the hoof capsule, promoting a healthy, pliable hoof without the greasy residue of petroleum or tar based products.

Natural hoof resins are protected and replenished by ingredients in The Right Step®. Oxygen can freely pass through a protective coating to the hoof wall. The essential requirements for most harmful bacteria, fungi and yeast infections are body heat, nutrients, moisture and the lack of oxygen. In the case of hoof infections, we can not control the first two conditions but we can control excess moisture and at the same time let oxygen in. The blocking of oils can be demonstrated by a small amount of oil on a fish pond can block the oxygen from the fish underneath. Oils, tars, and plastic type preparations seal off oxygen and trap excess moisture in the hoof. It is better to use no external hoof preparation than to use any material that seals off oxygen and traps excess moisture in the hoof. The moisture "barrier" created by The Right Step® repels environmental moisture while retaining the natural hoof fluids. The Right Step® does not foster harmful infections because the hoof can "breathe" through the coating. The resin coating creates a barrier to moisture, thereby protecting the hoof capsule from softening during wet conditions. When conditions are dry the natural hoof oils are retained within the hoof, lessening drying and cracking of the hoof wall.

Yucca plant extract is an ingredient in The Right Step®! Stabled horses are often subjected to stalls containing varying amounts of excrement. Urine and feces produce high levels of ammonia which is detrimental to the tissues of the hoof capsule. The yucca plant extract binds with this ammonia, eliminating its harmful effects.

The Right Step® aids in the prevention of White Line problems and may be used to protect the hoof following damage to the coronary band or hoof capsule.

Consistency is light and non-greasy! Application with the non-hissing pump sprayer is simple and without the usual mess of greasy products. The hoof can be handled without leaving obnoxious residue on the hands, and the hoof may be buffed to a beautiful shine to make your horse's feet "show ring perfect".

Directions:

Shake well before application.
Apply to a clean and dry hoof daily or as often as environment dictates.
Spray entire hoof lightly and allow to dry several minutes.
Buff with a soft cloth if desired.
